Emily V. Westfall (she/her) is a visual artist and educator living and working in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Influenced by her upbringing in Northern Vermont, her photographic work seeks to explore the relationship of humankind and the natural world and to challenge notions of anthropocentrism.
Westfall holds an MFA from the Massachusetts College of Art & Design and a BFA from the University of Vermont.
Her work has been exhibited at various galleries and exhibition spaces including Aviary Gallery (Boston, Massachusetts), The Vermont Center for Photography (Brattleboro, Vermont) , Saratoga Arts Center Gallery (Saratoga Springs, New York), The Conservation Center (Champ-Pittet, Switzerland), the Sustainable Oceans Alliance Summit (Washington,DC) and The Photographic Resource Center at Boston University (Boston, Massachusetts) . Additionally she has been featured in various publications, such as, Lenscratch, aint – bad, Lamono Magazine, Booooooom, Phases Magazine, Muybridge’s Horse and Oranbeg Press’ As of Late zine series. She has exhibited her artist books at the Boston Art Book Fair, the Philadelphia Art Book Fair and the Yale Odds & Ends Art Book Fair.
Westfall is currently a Lecturer of Photography at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY.
